Is it something related to Japan? Actually it has no connection with Japanese traditional entertainers geisha. Geisha/Gesha is a particular coffee varietals, like bourbon, pacamara, typica etc. It is an original variety that was discovered in the 1930s in the Southwestern town of Gesha, Ethiopia. Geisha made its spotlight ‘arrival’ to the world in 2004 as the varietal that took the prize at the Best Of Panama （BOP） competition.
