市场预计2023/24年度印度尼西亚咖啡产量1030万袋,低于过去三年1180万袋的平均产量。其中罗布斯塔咖啡产量约880万袋(约占85%),阿拉比卡咖啡产量约150万袋(约占15%)。

随着全球经济波动和气候变化对农业生产力的影响,加上市场需求结构调整等多重因素作用下,印度尼西亚作为世界上最大的coffee exporter之一,其coffee production and export volume experienced a significant decline in the 2023/24 crop year.

According to official data released by Indonesia's Ministry of Agriculture, the country's coffee exports in July 2023 were down 10.26 percent from the same period last year, with a total of 252,226 bags (each bag weighing 60 kg) shipped out. This marks a sharp drop in Indonesia's coffee exports for the current crop year.

The cumulative coffee exports for the period April to March 2024 stood at 848,059 bags, representing a decrease of 14.54 percent compared to the same period last year.

Market analysts predict that Indonesia's coffee production for the upcoming crop year will reach around one million bags (based on an average yield per hectare), which is lower than the three-year average of around one point eight million bags per annum.

Of this total output, Robusta beans are expected to account for about eighty-five percent or around eight hundred and eighty thousand bags while Arabica beans are forecasted at fifteen percent or approximately one hundred and fifty thousand bags.

The decline in Indonesian coffee production and export volumes has been attributed to factors such as climate change-induced weather patterns affecting plant growth conditions; increased pest infestation due to poor management practices; insufficient funding for agricultural development projects; as well as declining global demand caused by shifting consumer preferences towards other beverages like tea or soft drinks.

Despite these challenges however there remains room for optimism given recent efforts made by government agencies working closely with private sector partners aimed at improving infrastructure investments supporting sustainable farming methods improving market access through trade agreements etcetera.
