Coffee originated in Ethiopia around 1 million years ago when wild coffee plants were first domesticated by local tribesmen who noticed that they could use the beans as both food and medicine. The beverage quickly spread throughout Africa before reaching Europe via trade routes along the Silk Road during the Middle Ages.
The rise of coffeehouses in Europe during the 17th century further propelled its popularity among intellectuals like Voltaire who used them as places where they could discuss politics without fear of persecution under oppressive regimes.
Which Beverage Has More Health Benefits?
Both tea and coffee contain antioxidants which help protect against cell damage caused by free radicals but there are some differences between them too:
Black Tea: contains more caffeine than green or white teas.
Green Tea: contains higher levels than black or white teas.
Coffee: contains less antioxidants than all three types but can be high in caffeine depending on how much you consume!
It's worth noting here that moderation should always be practiced when consuming either beverage since excessive amounts can lead to negative health effects such as insomnia if consumed too close together at night time hours before bedtime
In conclusion while there are pros & cons associated with both options it seems clear based on available research data points towards green being perhaps better option due mainly because it doesn't taste bitter nor does give bad breath afterward!
