From Bean to Cup: A Journey Through the Rich History of Coffee
Ancient Origins and Ethnobotanical Beginnings
The history of coffee dates back over 1,000 years to Ethiopia, where it is believed that coffee cherries were first consumed by local tribes as a food source. Legend has it that a goatherd named Kaldi discovered the energizing effects of coffee when he noticed his goats becoming more alert and active after eating the bright red berries from a certain plant. Intrigued, Kaldi decided to try one himself and soon became invigorated with energy.
Word quickly spread about this magical fruit, and soon people in the region began cultivating it for its unique properties.
